Learn how to respond to life-threatening emergencies.
-Scene assesment, barrier use, primary assesment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), management of: serious bleeding, shock, spinal injury and conscious and unconscious choking.
-Automated external defibrillator (DEA) and Emergency Oxygen use.
Learn how to deal with injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening.
-Injury and illness assesment.
-Bandaging.
-Splinting for dislocations and fractures.
-First aid treatments.
Learn how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children
(ages 1 to 8) and infants less than 1 year old.
-Types of medical emergencies that differ from adults.
The training unfolds through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice.
Everything in a non stressful learning environment, wich reduces the performance anxieties and enhances confidence when rendering aid in a real medical emergency. More than being a requirement for the rescue diver program, this course and all the skills and knowledge that you'll obtain from it, are very valuable for life because an accident can happen anytime, anywhere. Be prepared and ready to help anyone.
Duration: 8 hours. Includes all didactic materials.
